Welcome to Lauzun

Jean-Pierre BARJOUMayor of Lauzun, took office on June 28, 2020 following the municipal elections of 2020. The Municipal Council, composed of 15 elected officials, manages the commune.

Situated at equal distance (30 minutes by car) from the towns of Marmande, Bergerac and Villeneuve sur Lot, Lauzun is a former county town, now the seat of the Community of Municipalities, which groups together twenty municipalities and a population of 10,700 inhabitants.

Bordering the Dordogne, whose river Le Dropt marks the border with the Lot et Garonne, it is a privileged place to live in the countryside and to live well.

Our commune has all the shops that meet the essential needs of daily life. A weekly market completes the offer every Saturday, with local products.

The services are also complete, between craft activities and personal care. Medical and paramedical services, pharmacy and physiotherapists, home care, allow to answer all the situations related to health and ageing.

For families and the younger generations, the school group provides the essential framework for the acquisition of knowledge and the music school, as well as the sports clubs and the city-stadium, give every opportunity for personal development.

Two new restaurants (Le Grand Duck and Le Rendez-vous café) opened during the lockdown, while the opening of a gourmet restaurant "Gostar" replaced the former Lion d'Or.

In addition, the digital coverage via fiber and the presence of a digital advisor allow to avoid the digital divide.

So many assets in a village whose heritage and the lake site reinforce its character. If we take into account the natural environment of this preserved region, our village, its hamlets and its natural areas offer a concentrate of good living in the countryside.

Visitor, tourist or future resident, after having surfed on our site, a passage among us will convince you: Lauzun is not lacking in charm.

And away from the crowds, it is good to be there.
